Control of the U.S. Senate in 2023 and beyond could hinge on whether Republicans can pull off an upset victory in Colorado’s closely-watched race.

Incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet, a Democrat, is seeking his third full term in the Senate. He faces a challenge from Republican Joe O’Dea, a first-time candidate and the CEO of a Denver construction firm.

The Senate is currently split 50-50, with Democrats controlling the chamber thanks to Vice President Kamala Harris’ tie-breaking vote. Democrats’ hopes of maintaining their slim majority rest on a half-dozen key races in swing states across the country.

Third-party candidates include Brian Peotter of the Libertarian Party, T.J. Cole of the Unity Party and Frank Atwood of the Approval Voting Party.

Below is information about the candidates and their answers to a questionnaire. Answers were lightly edited for length, clarity and style.
