Residents in the town of Bow Mar so far have achieved the highest rate of response to the 2020 Census compared to other Colorado municipalities, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
As of Tuesday, Bow Mar registered a response rate of 88.7%.
Bow Mar is a statutory town west of Denver with a population of about 900.
Four Boulder County municipalities — Louisville (fifth), Erie (eighth), and Superior and Lafayette (tied for ninth) — were in the top 10 highest response rates. The city of Boulder, with a response rate of 69.8%, was in 40th place.
The state’s biggest city, Denver, with a response rate of 63.7%, was in 73rd place, while Bonanza, with a response rate of 7.1%, was in last place. The population of Bonanza is in the low double digits.
The response rate nationwide is 61.8%, the Census Bureau reports.
Census tallies will inform the apportionment of congressional representation, national spending and other critical government functions. Residents may still complete a Census form.
