At the COVID-19 briefing, Polis will be joined Rachel Herlihy, the state epidemiologist.
Through Sept. 13, Colorado had 61,699 cases of COVID-19 and 1,894 deaths due to the disease, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The three-day moving average of daily new cases in the state is 345, up from 272 a week ago.
On Sept. 12, Polis ordered an extension of Colorado’s face mask mandate.
The mandate, first issued by executive order July 16, applies to all Coloradans older than 10 and requires people to cover their nose and mouth inside public indoor spaces, including businesses, or while waiting for public transportation.
